International ME/CFS Conference 2026

+++ The first video presentations of the International ME/CFS Conference 2026 are now online. More will be added gradually over the coming weeks. +++

Scientific Conference centred on the latest research on disease mechanisms and treatments for ME/CFS (myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome) and Long COVID/post-COVID syndrome. The two-day hybrid event on 7 and 8 May 2026 was directed at medical professionals, researchers and interdisciplinary experts in the fields of medicine and biology.

The event was broadcast online live from the Harnack House of the Max Planck Society in Berlin, Germany. Presentations were held in English. Day two of the Conference featured an afternoon Symposium for a German speaking audience (more information on the agenda and speakers as well as online registration below).

Scientific posters were exhibited on-site on 7–8 May and will be available online to registered participants for six months after the Conference. Videos, presentations and short summaries of the lectures will be made publicly available after the event.

Video presentations have started to go live and will be added step by step over the next few weeks. New presentations will be uploaded on a rolling basis, so it's worth checking back regularly.

Under the stewardship of Prof Carmen Scheibenbogen, Director of the Division of Immunodeficiencies and Post-infectious Diseases and the Charité Fatigue Center (CFC) at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany, the Conference brought together leading international experts in the field of post-acute infection syndromes (PAIS) to present the latest research on ME/CFS.

Presentations were centred on the latest findings from research on disease mechanisms; ranging from insights into genetics, biomarkers, and imaging, to vascular, neuronal, immune and metabolic dysfunction. Day two of the Conference was centred on showcasing recent data and results from clinical trials investigating treatments, with a focus on interventions targeting immune dysregulation. An afternoon Symposium on 8 May summarised ongoing research in German for patients and the wider public.

Contributions focussed on ME/CFS, while also highlighting research on Long COVID and post-COVID syndrome.
