The research work is concerned with analysing retroviral replication mechanisms to elucidate pathogenesis mechanisms and the development of strategies for infection prevention. A further focus is on investigations into cellular restrictions on the proliferation of endogenous and exogenous retroviruses with a focus on innate immunity.
