Autoantibodies analysis in Long COVID and ME/CFS

Dr Keyla Sá works as a post-doctoral researcher at the lab of Prof Akiko Iwasaki in the Department of Immunobiology at Yale School of Medicine with a research focus on autoantibody-mediated neurological chronic diseases. By her interdisciplinary approach using the knowledge of immunology, large-scale proteomics, neuroscience and machine-learning techniques, Dr Sá tries to decrypt the association between pathogenic autoantibodies and neuroimmunology mechanisms. The aim of her work is to identify therapeutic targets for post-acute infection syndromes, such as ME/CFS, by uncovering neuroimmune interactions.
