Prof (MD) Maria Vehreschild

Prof Maria Vehreschild is a specialist in internal medicine, hematology and oncology, and infectious diseases, and heads the infectious diseases department at Frankfurt University Hospital as well as the Clinical Microbiome Research Group at University Hospital Cologne. As head of the RAPID_REVIVE study, implemented within the framework of the Network of University Medicine (NUM) sub-project National Pandemic Cohort Network (NAPKON), Prof. Vehreschild is researching, among other things, the effects of the antiviral anti-inflammatory drug vidofludimus calcium in long-term COVID patients. She is also a member of the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF) and, through this connection, is involved in post-COVID research within the framework of the "National Decade against Post-Infectious Diseases".
