Marisa Dardamaneli

Marisa Dardamaneli holds university degrees in medicine, chemistry and toxicology. As a chemist, she specialised in organic chemistry and biochemistry with a particular interest in the intersection of pharmaceutical active ingredients and their application in medicine. Through her subsequent medical studies and practical work as a physician, she has supplemented this knowledge with practical experience in the German healthcare system. A particular concern of hers are diseases for which there are currently no causal treatments, such as infantile neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis, the subject of her thesis, or ME/CFS, in which she became increasingly interested in recent years. Biomedical research, the development of effective medications, and adequate care for ME/CFS patients are of great importance to her.
