The group's research is primarily focused on optimising nutritional status among vulnerable population groups as well as among patients with chronic diseases. The group reaches out both domestically as well as to Southern Africa.
The group's research is primarily focused on:
1\) Perinatal nutrition, encompassing optimalisation of nutrition to pregnant women and their offsprings after delivery. Special emphasis is given to small children, in order to improve their growth and cognitive function. A major part of this research takes place in Western-, Southern- and Eastern Africa.
2\) Selective patient-categories with a focus on optimising their nutritional status. Examples include adults undergoing blood stem cell transplantation and adults with refractory epilepsy.
