Description:
Acidosis and alkalosis viewed collectively. Acidosis is a pathologic condition of acid accumulation or depletion of base in the body. Alkalosis is a pathological condition that removes acid or adds base to the body fluids.

Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2)

Endothelial dysfunction
Description:
The endothelium maintains an adequate homeostasis via its capacity to produce protective molecules. When this function is lost or damaged, endothelial dysfunction occurs, leading to a reduction in the capacity to maintain homeostasis and the development of pathological inflammatory processes and vascular disease.

Description:
