Project description

This project of the Immune Mechanisms of ME (IMMME) research network will provide biospecimens and clinical data from well-established cohorts of patients with post-infectious ME/CFS or autoimmune diseases with overlapping symptoms to ME/CFS, as well as age- and sex-matched healthy controls. The biosamples are made available to the various experimental studies within the IMMME network. Autoantibodies against GPCR are determined using certified ELISA tests (CellTrend). With the help of bioinformatics/biostatistics, clinical and experimental data from the various IMMME projects are linked together in order to identify connections and understand disease mechanisms.

(Description adapted from project website: see link above)

Immune system dysfunction
Description:
Immune system is the body's defense mechanism against foreign organisms or substances and deviant native cells. It includes the humoral immune response and the cell-mediated response and consists of a complex of interrelated cellular, molecular, and genetic components. Diseases of the immune system are disorders caused by abnormal or absent immunologic mechanisms, whether humoral, cell-m...
